1)TURN OFF YOUR MODEM
2)RESET THE ROUTER....
3)OPEN THE BROWSER(IE OR FIREFOX) IN WINDOWS AND SAFARI IN MAC
4)TYPE ON THE ADDRESS BAR 192.168.1.1
FOR(WGR614V1 TO V6) WELCOME SCREEN WILL APPEAR) THIS IS AN HIJACK SCREEN,YOU NEED TO BYPASS THIS SCREEN,BY TYPING ON THE BROWSER 192.168.1.1/basicsetting.htm
scroll down the basic setting page and click on apply,it will ask for a username and password(enter "admin" and "password"),now you are back to the basic settings.
5)NOW ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE CLICK ON WIRELESS SETTINGS AND DO THE WIRELESS SETTINGS,SSID:TYPE YOU FIRST NAME,CHANNEL-06,MODE:G&B OR AUTOMODE108MBPS(WGT) OR AUTOMODE 270MBPS(N SERIES)....ENABLE SECURITY(CHOOSE THE SECOND OPTION ie WEP) WIRED EQUIVALENT PRIVACY.NOW BELOW THAT YOU HAVE TO SELECT AUTHENTICATION TYPE- "AUTOMATIC",ENCRPTION... | |
